Delivered Search – How it Works

RV Listings and Map of Campgrounds

Because RVPlusYou focuses all of our marketing efforts, and dollars, on finding those RV renters who are looking for an RV rental that will delivered and set up at their location, we’ve made some major changes to our search process.

‘Delivered Search’ for an RV rental will now focus first on the location where the renter needs an RV delivered. It then lists the RV rentals within that delivery search area that are available to be delivered and set up for the renter.

Here is how it works:Map of Campgrounds Near Delivered RV Rental Search Area

  1. User enters destination city, campground, address, or event in the RVPlusYou search bar. This can be a music festival, a private home address, or an area RV park.
  2. Once the user enters their desired destination, they are presented with a list of RV rentals on the left (for PC’s and larger screens), or below for smaller screens (Smartphones). On the right is a map of campgrounds and RV parks located within the user’s delivery area. The same map is available as an option on smartphones, located at the bottom. Delivered RV Rental listings
  3. User has the option to immediately start browsing RV rentals, or they can use the map to center or move their delivery area and find more RV rental options that will deliver for them.
  4. The address of your RV listing will now be the center point of your delivery area. The default range is 75 miles. If you will deliver further, or not that far, then you will need to adjust this variable in the ‘edit address’ field where you manage your RV listing.

What changes do you need to make?

It is highly recommended that you spend some time adjusting your listing to fit the new delivered search process.

Consider the following:

  • No longer will your RV show up on a map. Your address will be used as the center of a “delivery area”. We don’t use keywords in the title, so you don’t need to list multiple locations.
  • It is no longer necessary to have multiple listings for the same RV. If you would like to cover a larger area, then adjust your delivery area in the Manage RV section of your listing, by updating the delivery area underneath your address field.
  • Reviews are important, so make sure to keep your RV listings that have reviews. Simply change the address and update the title. If you have RV listings that you want to eliminate, but you want to keep the reviews, let us know and we’ll move your reviews to the RV listing that you’ll be keeping.
  • Update your title. This is most important. If you have a location specific title, such as “RV Rental for Lopez Lake”, then this title is location specific and may confuse renters. It may be delivered to Lopez Lake, but it may also be delivered to a home 20 miles away for a family reunion, or an RV park 5 miles away. Make sure your title is appropriate for the new Delivered Search process.
    • Sample Titles:
      • “Newer Luxury RV with Outside BBQ”
      • “New Bunkhouse Family Travel Trailer”
      • “Vintage Refurbished Travel Trailer”
  • We’ve added new fields. Make sure your listing shows the correct length of RV, the correct address, and the correct number of people that your RV sleeps. More new fields coming, such as year, make, model.
    • Note: This information will be displayed in helpful ways and will be used for future filters added to search options.

Wine Country RV Resort – RV Rental

Before we get started on which RV park or Campground you want to visit, a quick review of the Central Coast. San Luis Obispo county hosts some of the coolest little beach towns in California. Starting in the North County, Paso Robles is the definition of ‘California wine country’ and it rivals all of the competition, including Napa/Sonoma. Well, in everything except high wine tasting fees. You’ll find very reasonable prices on tastings fees and the wine.

One of our favorite wineries is Frateli Perata, a small family-owned dry farmed vineyard that produces about 2,500 cases a year. All of their wine is distributed through their club, so if you want to bring a bottle home, you’ll have to visit their tasting room off of Hwy 46 West.

Cambria and San Simeon are a favorite destination for tourists worldwide. Both are quaint seaside villages that attract beach lovers, foodies, and hikers alike. One of the really cool attractions is the elephant seal refuge just North of San Simeon on Hwy 1, a must see destination.

Elephant Seals in San SimeonMoving down the cost on highway 1 to Cayucos, Morro Bay, and Los Osos, you’ll find little towns that time simply forgot. If you love quaint shops, mom and pop restaurants, or bay side dining, put these three towns on your bucket list. If you make it in time for lunch, try the Bayside Cafe. They know exactly what they’re doing.

As you reach San Luis Obispo, home of California Polytechnic University, you’ll discover absolute magic. Dubbed the “happiest town in America”, and sporting an average 67 degree climate, you’ll know why as you stroll the shops and restaurants of Higuera street in downtown “SLO”. You won’t find better Cioppino than the award winning family recipe at Ciopinot Seafood Grille. Great seafood dishes, and an amazing selection of Pinot Noir wine is what you’ll find at this popular dinner house.

In the coastal valley where SLO is protected by surrounding mountains and Edna Valley is busy producing some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir anywhere, Hwy 1 connects to the 101 freeway and guides you back down toward the coastline, passing Avila Beach, Shell Beach, and Pismo Beach. There doesn’t seem to be a bad view anywhere.

The truth is, once you land in San Luis Obispo County, no matter where you decide to camp, you’ll be in the middle of the absolute best time you can possibly have. And because we’re campers, we’re going to share our top choices, (in no particular order).

Flexibility and RV Rentals

An RV can be rented on many different occasions and locations. For example, tourists who fly into the country and want to combine nights in hotels and the outdoors while travelling around America, for a date weekend where you might want something different, and even in crisis where your house might be damaged. Delivered RV rentals can come in handy in many situations.

Costs and RV Rentals

This is certainly a budget friendly alternative as it does not have the same costs as hotels and motels, and it is much cheaper to rent from a private party than one of the big corporate RV rental companies. It allows the flexibility for you to be relaxed and at ease wherever you might be! Please view the website for costs and listings at your destination.

A Cozy Holiday Season

The closer we come to the holiday season the more we want to listen to old favorites on the radio – Christmas carols and beautiful songs like White Christmas. Most people want to have a white Christmas – although they want the snow to be only an inch thick on every surface in their town except roads and sidewalks, but a good twelve inches thick on the nearest ski hill or mountain! Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, while everyone else can walk safely to and from work or shopping and enjoy the beautiful snow cover on lawns and in the trees.

Cozy indoor comfort for a warm or wintry Christmas!
Cozy indoor comfort for a warm or wintry Christmas!

Unfortunately winter snows aren’t that obliging! Winter travel, especially for RVs can be quite hazardous if roads haven’t been properly cleared of ice and snow. Driving in the mountains can also require that chains be put on tires – and that can be time-consuming and frustrating if you’ve never done it before.

The delivered RV is the perfect solution. RV vacation rentals are gaining in popularity. Delivered RV rentals  – where the renter doesn’t have to do anything but enjoy the luxury RV in a pristine setting – continue set the bar for this popular vacation niche.

Let someone skilled in such winter driving bring their RV to the location you choose. Then you simply arrive on the day your vacation starts and enjoy its comforts and conveniences until it’s time to go home. At that point, the owner of the RV comes and drives his or her RV back home or to the next rental destination.

There are many luxury RV parks across the country, so it might not even be the case where an owner has to bring the RV to you – you simply go to the RV.  That’s what delivered RV rentals are all about.

Luxury RV parks have every possible facility to make you feel at home – large outdoor pools, indoor pools if they’re in a wintry area, hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Some are located near golf courses – these are extremely popular. Even if the RV park is located in the middle of town – for example in Las Vegas quite near a casino! – it will typically be located close to tourist attractions – or at least near a “main drag” so it will be easy to take a bus or drive to where one wants to go.

There is no limit to where you can travel and find a delivered RV to rent for the duration of your stay. If you’re traveling in a large group, you can rent several RVs side by side, or at least located in the same general area so you can get out and explore together when you want and return to your comfortable RV vacation rental for privacy at day’s end.

“Renting a 38ft RV fifth wheel trailer is something I heard other people doing but never something I have considered myself until I stumbled upon this website service and RJ and Danelle. RJ and Danelle are two wonderful folks who have a beautiful well maintained trailer that do everything in there power to make sure your vacation is wonderful. The trailer is very clean and fully stocked incase you forget anything. They set the trailer up for my daughter and myself and made sure everything is in working order. Gave great suggestions on things to do in the area. Not only are we going to schedule another vacation VERY soon, other family members and friends have been or will be in contact with them to see when it is available. Personally I feel it is much more relaxing than staying in a motel. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in LUXURY camping.”  — Douglas

“Everything was great and tons of fun. Still can’t believe how beautiful it is down there [Avila Beach], hopefully I’ll be back and will definitely be looking at using the site again for future regattas!” –Doug

“Great RV, great service!”  –D.

“Very nice RV! It was great showing up and having it already set up and ready to go for us. Everything was clean and in working order. Russ went over a few instructions but when we forgot what to do if the little red light came on for the pump, he had left a binder with instructions – very helpful! I also called once asking about the bicycles. He hadn’t brought them, so if you want them, make sure to specify. He was happy to do so, but we ended up with a freak thunderstorm in the middle of the summer so decided to pass on them. I do want to suggest to future renters – bring any cold food in a cooler that can last a day. While he turned the refrigerator on at 2pm, when we checked at 11pm, it was still only at 55 degrees, not 40, which is safe for meat, dairy, etc. We had put them in the freezer hours earlier since it was at 40 but by morning when the frig was at the correct temp, so was the freezer and I ended up throwing several things out that don’t freeze well. Not a big deal if you have a cooler and are prepared to wait until it gets there. We would definitely rent from Russ again!”  — Angela

“If anyone remembers watching Mel Gibson from Lethal Weapon, you may recall he lived in an RV on the beach. Since that time, I always wanted to try RV camping on a beach. Being a first timer, however, I was unfamiliar with RV camping: from what to look for in an RV rental, and especially the logistics around getting a RV camp space reservation. Russ’s RV to the rescue. Russ’s precise instructions handheld me through the entire process and made it completely turn key for us. We arrived to a luxurious, clean RV, completely set up with bikes, BBQ, chairs, table, etc and Russ walked us through everything. This is more of a ‘glamping’ experience as the RV provides all the comforts of home, but in the idyllic setting of the California central coast. Each day we saw otters, dolphins, and our daughter loved the tide pools. Avila Beach area is also a great family town and we would highly recommend doing the RV beach camping on the central coast. We’re so excited about going back again!”  — Henry
