Bar Harbor Campground on Mount Desert Island is situated in a secluded, peaceful area with striking views of the ocean – only four miles away from Bar Harbor itself. It’s located just north of the city on Route 3, Salisbury Cove.
There’s no need to navigate the winding roads of Mount Desert Island with an RV. You can get a rental RV that is delivered, set up, and picked up at Bar Harbor Campground. This enables you and your family to simply arrive via car and enjoy all the convenience.
Amenities
Bar Harbor Campground has a heated pool, hot showers, and offers free shuttle service throughout the area.
The campground offers several no hookup sites, several sites with electric and water hookups, and more with electric, water and sewer hookups. 30 and 50 amp service is available.
Note that the campground doesn’t offer reservations, and they don’t take credit cards. Make sure to make arrangements with the RV owner in advance.
Attractions
Bar Harbor, a town with 5,000 permanent residents, has plenty to see and do for all ages. Take a trip out into the ocean for puffin and whale watching. Go canoeing or kayaking. There’s plenty of good fishing, or just visit one of its many restaurants for fresh seafood. Walk around the museums, the art galleries, and the antique shops. And don’t forget Acadia National Park!
