California Luxury RV Resort Report: Part 1

Throughout the country, RVers have a choice of campgrounds to fit every budget. Most campgrounds will have picnic tables and fire rings, for example, as well as a playground for kids and horseshoes for adults.

Luxury resorts, on the other hand, will have many more amenities and typically cater to the RVer who is also very social. Luxury RV resorts in California will usually have pickle ball courts, driving ranges and putting greens, heated pools, and maybe even a spa. They’ll also arrange live entertainment – concerts, for example – in their clubhouse on a regular basis throughout the year.

I’d like to debut a series of blogs which I call the California Luxury RV Resort Report, in which I’ll be focusing on two luxury resorts per post, to give my readers a good idea of what’s in store for them at each of the resorts I cover. Luxury resorts and delivered RV rentals – the perfect combination.

I’m starting out with California but eventually these Luxury RV Resort Reports (I just love how that rolls off the tongue) will cover every state.)

But that’s not all. At the end of each resort report will be a link to our Campground Data page for that resort, which provides such details as a map of the campground, and contact details to reserve a site there.

Even though these are luxury resorts, delivered RVs are welcome. In fact, they’re probably preferred! With a delivered RV, there’s no need for an inexperienced driver to try to navigate the resort itself, do any hookups, or empty out anything at the end of a stay. It’s all taken care of you with delivered RVs in California.

I’m going to start out with Golden Village Palms RV Resort and Emerald Desert RV Resort.

Golden Village Palms RV Resort
Golden Village Palms RV Resort is a long-term residential RV gated community in the heart of Hemet, California – a top vacation spot for fishing enthusiasts and wine lovers. Hemet is adjacent to San Jacinto, and 87 miles east of Los Angeles.

Golden Village is open to RVers, and their pets, who just want to stay anywhere from one night to a month. Every site has a full hookup including water, sewer, 50/30 amp electric and cable TV. WFi is available. There are a limited number of pull-through sites that can accommodate 45-foot long RVs.
As the name implies, Golden Village is for people 55 years or older enjoying their golden years, although visitors can bring their kids or grandkids along, of course. The year-long activities calendar is geared toward adults.

There’s plenty of outdoor activities -including four pickle ball courts and three “freeform” pools – meaning they’re not your traditional rectangles or even squares. There’s no lap swimming possible but water aerobics is popular, or just lounging pool side. Volleyball is popular, and there’s a putting green and a shuffleboard pavilion as well as a fitness center, all centrally located adjacent to the clubhouse. There’s no need to leave Golden Village for live entertainment either, they present live concerts on a regular basis.

Note that all RVs parked at this resort must be fully self-contained and in good condition.

Emerald Desert RV Resort
The Emerald Desert RV Resort is a favorite of the dedicated golfer, especially those who like to bring their pets along on their vacation stays. It’s located in Palm Desert, California, in the Coachella Valley – just 14 miles east of Palm Springs and only a couple of hours drive (unless you get stuck in traffic) to San Diego or Los Angeles.

Guests at Emerald Desert receive unlimited access to the fitness center. They can play on any one of three pickle ball courts, or visit the luxurious on-site spa for a relaxing massage. Their pool is open year-round, because it is temp controlled. Golfers can practice their form on the putting green or the driving range.

There are 255 roomy RV sites, with a few that are pull-through and accommodate 45-foot long RVS. Each site is complete with a concrete pad and manicured lawn, as well as 50/30 amp electric, cable TV and high speed wifi.

Emerald Desert is just a few minutes away from the El Paseo Shopping District, while the Cabazon Outlet Center is only 30 minutes away. There are several restaurants and shopping centers nearby, and it’s a short drive to casinos such as Morongo, Agua Caliente, Fantasy Springs and Spotlight 29.
