Jonathan Dickinson State Park

Jonathan Dickinson State Park is located 3 miles north of Tequesta. It is named after Jonathan Dickinson, a Quaker merchant who was shipwrecked on the Florida Coast near what is now the park. Hobe Sound has a population of about 12,000 people, and there are plenty of restaurants to visit and water sports to enjoy. Tequesta has about 7,000 people.

Amenities
Jonathan Dickinson State Park campgrounds have handicapped-accessible restrooms and picnic areas. Electric hookups and a dump station are available, as well as a gift shop and vending machines. Activities include hiking, boating, picnicking, star gazing, and fishing.

Attractions
America’s first federally designated “wild and scenic river,” the Loxahatchee River, runs through the park. The Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve is also a sight to see. There is a nature interpretive center in the park. Water enthusiasts can take plenty of tours, including diving with sharks. Take a tour of the islands on the Manatee Queen.
