Alafia River State Park Campground is located in central Florida, about 30 miles southeast of Tampa. It’s close to the unincorporated community of Picnic, also called Hurrah.

Florida is one of the most popular states for tourists, including RVers. Rental RVs are the most convenient way for tourists to visit the park. Rather than having to drive your own RV, an RV is delivered right to your camping spot and set up for you. After your stay ends, you pack up and leave and the RV owner retrieves the RV.

Amenities
Amenities at the campground inside Alafia include an equestrian trail, 17 miles of bike trails, including a mountain bike trail; a canoe boat launch, and a playground. There are restrooms and a shower station as well.

The park has 27 tent/RV sites, with a handful of pull-throughs and some back-ins. There are electricity and water hookups as well.

Attractions
Disney World is an hour’s drive north (not including traffic). There’s plenty to see and do inside the park itself, of course. Birding, fishing, and geo-seeking are popular activities, as are hiking and horseback riding.
